Paddington

The message was loud and clear tonight when we arrived in Yosemite National Park - the bears that reside here are not your common or garden bear. First of all they've got no interest at all in catching local salmon. What they're more interested in is real food - preferably our food. And they've got so savvy now that they can actually recognise a chilly bin if you're foolish enough to leave one in your Camry. Apparently in the past, so convinced are they, that lurking on your back seat is a chilly bin full of marmalade, that they'll take your car apart piece by piece to get at it - even if you're still in it. The note attached to our room key also helpfully reminded us that if we actually did happen upon a bear - we must - stand our ground, face the animal, make a loud noise and try to appear as large as possible. I would do none of those things as I would be hiding behind Nigel.
